WaferOptics™ is a new technology which enables production, packaging and integration of optics with light sensors and sources.
WaferOptics™ features use of wafer substrates carrying large arrays of lens formed by the Anteryon replication technology.
The wafers are then stacked in a multilayer package to form a complete fully focused optical assembly ready for bonding to a light sensor such as a CMOS wafer or a light source such as a laser.
Each wafer stack is custom designed to meet specific product needs but may typically contain :
- An first optical layer featuring lens on both sides of the substrate - integrating filters and diaphragms - as required
- A spacer layer related to delivering the required optical performance
- A second optical layer featuring lens on both sides of the substrate -integrating further filters such as IR - as required
- An interface mounting face layer to the light sensor / source
- The total package is compact, ready for integration to a full imaging sensor package without additional assembly steps, eliminates the need for focus and further is robust and reliable to levels suitable for arduous environment applications.
